English-speaking CBT therapist in Châtellerault (86)
I use cognitive and behavioral therapies (CBT) after receiving thorough training in the field both in my initial university training and in additional trainings. CBT has been proven to help people with disorders such as depression and anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, substance abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, chronic pain, eating disorders, sleep disorders, and others. CBT can improve symptoms relatively quickly.
Special expertise. My clinical experience, in private practice and in institutions, gives me particular expertise in the following areas.
Anxiety. Learn to cope with excessive worry, nervousness or stress that has become paralyzing in daily life; intense discomfort in social situations (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder).
Depression. Promote recovery from hopelessness, low motivation and low energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbances and loss of interest and pleasure in life.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Reduce invasive and recurrent thoughts and repetitive behaviors that invade daily life.
Chronic pain. Better understand pain to interrupt the vicious circle of thoughts and behaviors caused by pain, in order to resume meaningful and enjoyable activities.
Caregivers. Offer a listening ear to caregivers of loved ones of all ages when they become exhausted in the course of this rewarding yet difficult role and forget their own needs.
End of life and bereavement. Listen to people at the end of life to alleviate their psychological pain and contribute to a better quality of life. Also listen to the loved ones of a person at the end of life or bereaved relatives to help them better understand and cope.
LGBT+ Community. Provide a caring space for people who are experiencing difficulties related to their sexual orientation or gender identity or who are questioning their own identity.
Sessions in nature. After a few sessions in the office, an alternative is to meet in nature if you wish.
The current health crisis has awakened a need to reconnect with nature for many of us . The benefits of nature for our mental and physical health have been demonstrated in numerous international studies since the 1980s (reduction of anxiety and stress, improvement of concentration and sleep, reinforcement of the immune system,...).
Therefore, it seems natural to offer psychotherapy sessions outside the office walls, in gardens or woods. Fortunately, it is possible even in the city (Parc du Verger, Châtellerault forest). To learn more about the benefits of ecopsychotherapy, you can visit this site (http://www.ecopsychotherapie.fr).
There is free parking at the office which is close to the train station. Châtellerault is accessible from many smaller towns and villages around.
